Here at Escape Mate we can cater to parties of all shapes and sizes. Whether it be a birthday party for the kids, family get togethers, romantic date nights or team celebrations, Escape Mate is the place to be!
Boasting 3 epic, high-tech escape rooms to challenge minds of all ages including the Atlantis, Ancient Temple and Spaceship rooms, Escape Mate promises to be the most epic and memorable party in the galaxy.
Our Escape Rooms offer non-linear, engaging puzzles to keep everyone entertained and challenged for the duration of your stay. Suitable for all generations with kids from 8 years of age welcome.
All bookings are private appointments and will only include you and your group during your experience. All our rooms are hosted by our excellent team so everyone in your group can enjoy the challenge.

What to expect
Teams will receive our renowned Escape Mate hospitality, with a warm welcome and snacks at the ready. All bookings come with a selection of snacks and refreshments for the team to enjoy prior to their escape room experience.
Once you are to go our Games Master host will begin your exciting mission briefing to ensure that everyone is clued up and ready to save the world. We will assign some roles to the team to help with the mission before heading into your investigation zone.
Once underway, you and your team will have 60 minutes to navigate your way through all of the puzzles inside, interacting with awesome and unique contraptions and devices in order to ultimately save the world!
Once you have escaped, you and your team will have an opportunity to take a team photo in front of one of our amazing backdrops to keep the memory of your world saving mission!
All bookings take approximately 90 minutes to complete from start to finish, including your briefing and team photos.
Who can play?
Our rooms are suitable for all ages from 8 years and up. All of our puzzles and challenges can be solved using logic, deduction and the clues available in the room, meaning no prior knowledge is necessary before entering. All of our rooms are monitored by your games master who is available for clues and will keep the team on track throughout your mission.
Our games are suitable for all ages, demographics and team types.*
* Guests requiring wheelchair access are welcome to book our Atlantis room, situated in our brand new venue at 195 Victoria St.
Catering Options
All teams will be provided with snacks and refreshments on arrival at both offices.
For birthday teams wishing for more space to have cake food for their party, our Johnston Street office does have a meeting room that can cater for up to 20 guests at a time. This can be hired as an add-on extra at a rate of $50 per hour.
Please be aware that this MUST be booked in advance and is strictly subject to availability. This room can tend to be in high demand on Saturday’s and Sunday’s as it also doubles as our waiting area during busy periods.

Atlantis Escape Room
Team Size: 4-16 Players

Ideal for larger birthday parties and celebrations. Also perfect for experienced escape room fans of 4 or more players.
Eons ago, Atlantis was the superpower of planet Earth, blessed with long life and great intellect by the god Posiedon thanks to the Mighty Crystal. But when the Crystal was stolen by explorers from the outside world, Atlantis sank beneath the waves and was lost to time. Now a freak earthquake has brought up the explorer’s ship, containing both the Mighty Crystal and the entrance to Atlantis itself!
We need the bravest and smartest agents around to navigate the amazing lost city of Atlantis, find the crystal and bring the Atlanteans back from the abyss!
Atlantis is our newest and most high-tech room to date, situated in our brand new office on Victoria Street. Including phenomenal set design and puzzle construction as well as an awesome narrative and game structure. Atlantis is sure to be an unforgettable experience for experienced escape room advocates and new agents alike!
The Spaceship Escape Room
Team Size: 4-16 Players

Perfect for smaller parties, kids’ parties, date night or small team celebrations.
In the 1930’s, a scouting Alien spaceship crash landed in the Wellington Harbour during a failed invasion attempt. It was subsequently buried by the government under the city streets inside a bank vault. Now, decades later the ship has awoken and is sending out a distress beacon to the rest of the armada. Summoning a new invasion attempt. We need the smartest agents around to work with the awesome technology inside, stop the signal and prevent an invasion!
Wellington’s only fully automated escape room! No padlocks or boxes, just incredible and unique contraptions to keep the whole squad in awe. Situated in a real underground bank vault, The Spaceship is a mission you will never forget!
Ancient Temple Escape Room
Team Size: 2-6 Players
Difficulty: 7/10
Cost: $45 per Person
More suited to larger groups and perfect for birthday party groups, team building functions and large family gatherings.
The Ancient Temple was once home to a long forgotten tribe who worshipped Death Gods, now the ruins have been found and the Death Gods are awakening. Only the truest and bravest agents can solve the puzzles and riddles left behind by the ancient ones and find a way to seal away the Death Gods once and for all and prevent the Apocalypse!
Fantastic for first timers and pros alike, The Temple is one of our most popular rooms ever and still going strong. The perfect small group activity!
