Highly recommend Spaceship. Lots of non-linear puzzles, so if you get stuck you can work on something different to... reset your thinking. 'Agent Jack' was fantastic. He was very good at giving hints that spurred our thinking rather than giving the puzzle away.read more

Great fun in the Spaceship with my family - Grandad and Granny, Mum and Dad and the two grandkids - ages 6 and 8. All... enjoyed it and the kids were good at spotting the clues as well. It is not easy but when you know the things you do to get started you are away! Some clues are harder than others so there is something for everyone, all ages 6 to 70! It took us 48 minutes to complete out of 60 minutes. The member of staff was excellent and started the fun. Must try the other two rooms when we are back.read more

This wa my first Escape Room ever and is still the best, tried a few others around Nz but the props, story and the way... the puzzles worked in with the theme makes this place the best so far. Looking forward to Atlantis next time I'm in the neighbourhood.read more

We tried both the Ancient Temple & Atlantis and LOVED them both... the atmosphere in the rooms was brilliant - a lot of... thought has obviously gone into the design of them. So many cool puzzles to solve - would highly recommend them both!read more

We attempted the Spaceship and had a great time with my 14 year old son and two of his mates trying to work out the... puzzles. We were reminded by our lovely host Lauren that it is the most difficult escape room experience in NZ and she was not wrong. Her lovely french accent added another mind boggling dimension to the verbal clues. Great experience and would recommend it.read more

I had booked the Temple Room for my daughter and her 3 friends for her 15th birthday and they loved it. My daughter had... actually did all the research on the Escape Mate Website which she had found reliable and informative and she was able to explain all info back to us and we as parents were very happy and satisfy to book for her and her friends. They totally enjoyed it, solving codes and knowing they were timed was a challenge and made it very exciting 🙌🙌 more exciting they were able to solve the codes and still had 5mins to spare, she is already planning with friends to do the next room and invite more friends to join ✅✅✅✅read more

We visited Escape Mate back in Dec 2018 and tried their "Ancient Temple" (one of the two rooms that they currently... offer). Escape Mate is located in the basement level of an office building. Their staff was incredibly friendly and all seem to be escape room enthusiasts themselves. The lobby/ waiting area wasn't that spacious, but then again there were only two escape room games being offered. The "Ancient Temple" room was extremely fun w/ a lot of hidden puzzles that guided you from one to the other. The decor of the room was quite impressive and had a lot of technology implemented into the design. Our experience remained true to the storyline and kept us extremely involved the whole time.

I haven't been to many escape rooms in my time but I really really enjoyed this one! Room and puzzles were well... designed, and a great team-building and fun experience. I have to say though, probably my favourite part of the experience was the staff member who ran the room for us. he was simply hilarious and his warm, welcoming personality made the room even more amazing for us. My team and I needed some team building time, and we found Escape Mate. I highly recommend it, because even though we... had quite a few jump scares and missed some very obvious clues by ourselves, we had so much fun! We're still talking about it, and have already said we'd be back to do the alien spaceship. The team at Escape Mate are lovely people; they gave us a good laugh and took out the tension of never having been in an escape room before.
